We spent 5 nights at the Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa in Flic-en-Flac for our anniversary. Here’s what the stay was actually like, what’s included for free, where to eat, and whether it’s worth booking.

The Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa is a 5-star beachfront property on the west coast of Mauritius in Flic-en-Flac.
We stayed here for 5 nights to celebrate our anniversary, and of all the luxury properties we’ve stayed at around the world (Bora Bora, Seychelles, Maldives), this one also delivered a really well-rounded experience.
The beach, the sunsets, the restaurants, the amount of things included at no extra cost, and the overall energy of the resort made it one to remember.
Let me walk you through everything.
The Room
Our room was spacious with a nice-sized bathroom that had both a walk-in shower and a soaking bathtub.
There’s a private balcony with views of the garden and adult pool area, plus a coffee and tea maker, mini-bar, and robes and slippers.

Nothing felt cramped.
The layout gave us space to actually spread out and relax, which matters when you’re there for five nights and want to feel at home.

The Beach
This might be the highlight of the entire stay.
The Hilton sits right on Wolmar Beach, which is part of the Flic-en-Flac coastline.
The sand is soft and white, the water is calm and shallow (no big waves to fight), and the views of Le Morne Brabant in the background are stunning.

Local vendors walk along the beach selling handmade bracelets, pearl earrings, dresses, and shells.
The quality was actually nice, prices are negotiable, and they’re respectful whether you buy or not. It never felt overly pushy.
The Pools
There are two: a family-friendly landscaped pool and an adults-only infinity pool.
Both have ocean views, and the resort’s bars are positioned right nearby.
The infinity pool was our go-to spot in the late afternoon. The vibe is relaxed and the views are gorgeous, especially leading into sunset.

Breakfast
Breakfast is served daily at Pomme d’Amour, the main restaurant.
It’s a buffet spread with a wide variety, and it overlooks the lagoon where you can watch koi fish swim around while you eat.

Whether breakfast is included in your stay depends on your booking package (bed and breakfast, half board, etc.) and your Hilton Honors status.
If you have Gold or Diamond status, full breakfast is complimentary. More on that later.
The Restaurants and Bars
This is where the Hilton Mauritius really impressed us. There are four restaurants and three bars, and the quality was high across the board.
Pomme d’Amour is the main restaurant for breakfast and themed buffet dinners with a Creole twist. The standout dishes for us were the potato curry, cheese ball with coriander sauce and the banana fritter. Simple, but so good.

Kesari is inspired by authentic Indian heritage with curries, stews, roasted meats, and bread fresh from the tandoor. This was the only restaurant we didn’t get to try because they were closed on Wednesdays, which happened to be when we finally decided to check them out. If you’re planning your stay, take note of which nights each restaurant is open so you don’t miss the one you want.
Ginger Thai is the signature Thai restaurant, and this is where we had our anniversary dinner. The decor features beautiful Thai artwork, and the food matched the setting. The curry shrimp was the standout for me. I also really enjoyed a cocktail with Chamarel rum and vanilla. Loved how they infused the local flavors.

Coquillages is right on the shoreline with sand beneath your feet. It serves seafood for lunch and has live music at night, which is perfect right by the Coquillages Bar. This was a great spot for a midday meal, and the fresh bread they bring out at the beginning was honestly one of my favorite things we ate all week.

Hibiscus Bar is by the infinity pool with cocktails and light bites. Perfect for late afternoon when you don’t want to leave the pool but want something in your hand.
Sunset Bar overlooks the lagoon and serves handcrafted cocktails. One evening we were invited to a sundowner event, and they even taught me how to make my own cocktail with Jameson. It was one of those unexpected resort moments that made the trip feel personal.

What’s Free (This Is Important)
One of the things that surprised us most about the Hilton Mauritius is how much is included at no extra cost.
Non-motorized watersports are complimentary. We had access to pedal boats, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding all without paying extra.
Tennis, Tai Chi, yoga, and beach volleyball are all free.

The sauna and steam room are complimentary for all guests.
If you’re someone who calculates the value of a hotel stay beyond just the room (and if you’re reading this blog, you probably are), these freebies add up quickly.
You could fill an entire day with activities and never spend a dime beyond your room rate.

The Spa
The sauna and steam room are free, but if you want to treat yourself further, the spa offers paid treatments as well.
I booked a 1.5-hour-long massage with sound bowls, and it was one of the most relaxing experiences I’ve had at any resort. It cost ~$130 USD.
The spa also has a hydrotherapy bath, a fitness center, and a salon.
If you’re celebrating something (anniversary, birthday, or just life in general), I’d say the spa is worth the splurge.

How We Booked (Hilton Honors Points)
We used Hilton Honors points to book this stay, which is something we’ve been strategic about for a few years now.
If you’re not already collecting Hilton points, it’s worth looking into, especially if you travel even a few times a year.
The Hilton Mauritius uses dynamic pricing for award nights, so the points required will vary depending on when you visit.
But even at the higher end, the value per point is strong for a 5-star beachfront property.

The Sunsets
I saved this for last because it deserves its own moment.
The sunsets at the Hilton Mauritius are unlike anything we’ve experienced at any other resort.
The property faces west, directly over the Indian Ocean, and every evening the sky puts on a unique show.

Having been to Bora Bora, Seychelles, and the Maldives, the sunsets here genuinely compete. I’m not saying that lightly.
Who This Resort Is Best For
Couples. The adults-only pool, the anniversary-worthy restaurants, and the spa make this an easy choice for a romantic trip.

Families. There’s a kids club, a family pool, and enough activities to keep everyone entertained without needing to leave the resort.
People who want everything on-site. Between four restaurants, three bars, free watersports, a spa, gym, and one of the most beautiful beaches in Mauritius, you could spend your entire trip at the resort and feel like you got your money’s worth.
But we’d still highly recommend renting a car and exploring the island too.
