Peru has been on my bucket list for years now, I finally have the opportunity to go there and I’ve been so busy with things that I haven’t been able to plan like I wanted to. This guide was exactly what I needed to help plan my trip to Peru, I can’t wait to visit and see the country and culture for myself!

This is the second travel guide I’ve purchased from Chews to explore! These guides are super helpful and they include EVERYTHING in there. Places to go to. Places to eat at. Prices/activities can accommodate all budgets and so much more! Last one I used I was able to click on the links they had in there while I was in another country and it opened up in Google maps automatically for me. These travel guides are a must especially being they have first hand knowledge of the countries! You need to get it before you go trust me!

I have been enjoying the content from Chews to Explore on both YouTube and Instagram and was so excited to have this travel guide. I appreciate how detailed it is, you can tell that they took the time to create this. I highly recommend purchasing one!

Great guide for someone who has never been to Peru and is planning to go there. Love that you include places to eat, things to do, where to stay, modes of transportation and tips on diy excursions. Great guide overall and I love the direct links to the websites and restaurants!!

I first watched all your Peru videos and then purchased your Peru guidebook. Everything is helpful. I love your moto of “save a dollar”.
I want to mention the pages that other readers may not have mentioned.
a. The traditional foods page: I am pescatarian and my son is vegetarian. I prefer to learn the food items ahead of time. I had the time to look up pictures and have an idea of the ingredients in advance, instead of being frustrated when hungry and not knowing what to order after arrival. You have the food items all listed together that saved me a lot of time “researching”.
b. Local contact of taxi and tour guide: I was able to contact them ahead of time. I asked the iPeru booth (Official tourism) about the cost of a taxi (200-250) to Ollantaytambo at the lobby of Cusco airport. Once I exited the airport at Cusco, I was surrounded by twenty taxi drivers. It was great I could dodge all of them by pointing to your taxi driver across the “street”. The taxi driver and I did not have a price we agreed on. He had a luxury vehicle and charged 500-600 Soles. We parted and his taxi friend came up and approached me and I talked down to 220 Soles.
Because I knew your contact, so I got a fair deal. (as of Oct 2024)
We contacted your guide Miguel for Machu Picchu. When I was there… Oh my… There were seas of people of both foreigners and Peruvian nationals at the hill for the buses. I waited for two hours the first day and one hour for the second day. Miguel met with us at the line on the first day. He was not able to get enough people to form a group for the tour, he gave me a discounted rate (market rate $70) for a private tour on route 3 plus Inca Bridge. Miguel stayed with us the whole time, while some other tour guides left the clients and rejoined until they got on the bus. Miguel took care of all the ticket checks and lining up at the correct line. It was just too chaotic at the bus station. I would have been lost without him. He was also great at taking pictures and instagram reels.
Trujillo, a surf town which was not visited by the Chews. I recommend it to viewers who are interested in history and a less touristy destination.
Extra:
I went to Trujillo, a surfing town, for three days to see 1) the “sea grass banana boat” called caballito de totora 2) historic site Chan Chan 3) Historic site Temple of the Sun and Moon These were built years before the Inca empire of Machu Picchu. Trujillo was also the birth place of Marinera dance.
